don't tell anyone about tumblrtasks(.)com but i made $400 this week on it lol

OMG $400, shit I should do this, sounds so lucrative! Maybe I’ll find a nigerian prince and we can get married after I give him all of my bank account information!

Last Days in Quito

-my whole bus was robbed at gunpoint

-thankfully only my phone was stolen

-can’t communicate with my friend who I really wanted to spend my last days with

-all packed up, hoping my ceramics don’t break!

since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,
and kisses are a better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don’t cry
- the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids’ flutter which says

we are for each other; then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life’s not a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

“since feeling is first… (VII)” by E. E. Cummings (via modestproposals)

If your child listens to classical music:

The Haydn Effect: Child is witty and quick on his feet, quite often bringing a grin to the faces of those around him. Despite this he exhibits remarkable humility.

The Bach Effect: Child memorizes Scripture and says his prayers every day; may overwhelm listeners with his speech.

The Handel Effect: Much like the Bach Effect; in addition, the child may exhibit dramatic behavior.

The Beethoven Effect: Child develops a superiority complex and is prone to violent tantrums; is a perfectionist.

The Liszt Effect: Child speaks rapidly and extravagantly, but never really says anything important

The Bruckner Effect: Child speaks very slowly and repeats himself frequently. Gains a reputation for profundity.

The Grieg Effect: This child is quirky yet cheery. May be prone toward Norwegian folklore.

The Wagner Effect: Child becomes a megalomaniac. Speaks for six hours at a stretch.

The Schoenberg Effect: Child never repeats a word until he has used all the other words in his vocabulary. Sometimes talk backwards or upside-down. Eventually people stop listening to him. Child blames them for their inability to understand him.

The Ives Effect: Child develops a remarkable ability to carry on several separate conversations at once.

The Stravinsky Effect: Child is prone to savage, guttural and profane outbursts that lead to fighting and pandemonium in preschool.

The Shostakovich Effect: Child only expresses themselves in parent-approved ways.

The Cage Effect: Childs says exactly nothing for 4 minutes and 33 seconds. Preferred by 9 out of 10 classroom teachers.

The Glass Effect: Child repeats one word over, and over, and over, and over....

The Rachmaninoff Effect: the child will have rather large hands and an affinity towards really long words.

The Cowell effect: Child prefers to use eating utensils and other every day objects for purposes that are really outside of what they should be used for. Also seems oddly queer in everything ze does.

The Tchaikovsky Effect: Child idealizes everything in hir head and also really, really, REALLY loves ballet.

how are you liking quito??????

I’m loving it so much! I only have a little over 3 weeks left and I can’t think about leaving.  However I will say I’m ready to go back to the US and be a vegetarian again! I just can’t believe 5 months have gone by so quickly. I’m gonna miss Ecuador immensely.

Went bike riding on this lovely volcano today. Totally wiped out and landed boobs first into a large boulder.  It’s gonna be a painful week, but it was one of my top ecua-experiences!
*I can’t upload photos, so I am now forced to reblog what I want :(*

Watching Slumdog Millionaire While In Ecuador

Worst thing I could possibly do (well most definitely not the worst).  I’m halfway through the movie and I’ve already given money to every child street vendor I’ve seen.  I just can’t say no anymore.
